Overview of Events
Market Animal College participants will register for BOTH the morning and afternoon session on Saturday, April 24th. In the morning, participants will participate in a variety of livestock nutrition, showmanship, fitting, and marketing courses to refine their skills as a livestock exhibitor. The afternoon session will provide youth, should they choose to participate, the opportunity to showcase some of the skills they learned during the morning in our Showmanship Showdown! Look for more information about a NEW piece to Market Animal College: our Livestock Olympics are open to any participant that is bringing their own livestock the day of the event. Compete to show that you are the top showman in our Livestock Olympics by completing a series of hands-on challenges with your livestock in-tow.
Join us at Market Animal College and participate in ALL of the educational opportunities the day has to offer! All individuals present at the event will be required to wear a face mask that covers their nose & mouth.
Registration is only $10 and includes a MAC bag, notebook, t-shirt, & $5 Rockingham Cooperative coupon
as well as eligibility to participate in everything the day of the event!

Showcase your Skills in the Showring!
Apply some of the skills in showmanship that you learned in the morning to a real showring experience. Judges will be giving individual feedback after each class.
Club Lamb & Goat Producers On-Site
Connect with a local lamb/goat producer to select your project from.
We are partnering with select club lamb & goat producers to provide some of the shared livestock for showmanship classes. These livestock are also available for purchase directly from the producer after the event!
Rockingham Cooperative is committed to hosting Market Animal College in accordance with the Governor of Virginia's Executive Order 72, and specific guidelines governing Horse & Other Livestock Shows.

About the Event
Market Animal College is scheduled forl Saturday, April 24, 2021 at the Rockingham County Fair Grounds.
This spring event will give youth an opportunity to practice their fitting and showing techniques in a hands-on environment with REAL showmanship classes to compete for some great prizes!
Early morning courses will consist of instruction on techniques, tips and best practices followed by organized classes by years of show experience for each species.
Participants are welcome and encouraged to bring their livestock to this one-day event in preparation for their circuit shows or county fairs.
Bring your questions and be ready to learn from some of the east coast's best minds in the livestock showing world!
All individuals in attendance will be required to wear a face mask that covers their nose and mouth throughout the duration of the event. Any individuals not following this rule will be asked to leave. We also ask that, in accordance with the Governor's Executive Order, all individuals screen themselves for flu-like symptoms the morning of our event and are directed to not attend if they are experiencing any illnesses. Rockingham Cooperative reserves the right to ask individuals to leave Market Animal College if event organizer observes them as feeling unwell and showing symptoms that correlate to the Coronavirus.
No one with a fever or symptoms of COVID-19, if they have a positive diagnostic test for the virus that causes COVID-19, or known exposure to a COVID-19 case in the prior 14 days, is permitted in the establishment.
