ROCKINGHAM COOPERATIVE'S MARKET ANIMAL COLLEGE IS OPEN TO ANY YOUTH INTERESTED IN SHOWING LIVESTOCK ANIMALS DURING THE 2019-2020 SCHOOL YEAR.

\\REGISTRATION DEADLINE

To ensure that all of our attendees have the proper equipment and resources for Market Animal College we ask that registrations be turned in by Monday, August 26th at 11:59 pm. WE ARE ACCEPTING REGISTRATIONS UP THROUGH THE DAY OF THE EVENT.  JOIN US AT THE ROCKINGHAM COUNTY FAIR GROUNDS TO REGISTER IN PERSON.

 

 

\\SET TIMES

Market Animal College will begin promptly at 8:45 am and the scheduled program will end at 3:15 pm, at that point participants are invited to mingle and visit with other attendees, vendors, and continue conversations started during breakout stations. 

 

 

\\TRAVEL

Please make travel arrangements with individuals in your county/surrounding area.  Registration opens at 8:00 am, so plan to arrive in between 8:00 am and 8:30 am to be ready for the start of our program, promptly at 8:45.

 

 

\\PARKING

Parking is available on-site at the Rockingham County Fair Grounds at no cost to attendees.  Please plan to park, as available, in the gravel lots surrounding the Hoop Barn and Main Show Ring after entering through Gate 1 of the fairgrounds.

 

 

\\ON-SITE FOOD

Lunch is provided as part of all 4-H/FFA youth registrations.  For sale food options will be available by a local 4-H club at the 4-H Food Booth on-site at the Rockingham County Fair Grounds for parents,advisors, family members, and all others.  Participants can pick up their food at the food booth for lunch or are welcome to bring their own.

 

\\OUTSIDE FOOD

Several fast food restaurants surround our event location, no more than 5 miles away.  A "lunch hour" is scheduled to allow participants to pick-up their provided lunch and return to the Main Show Ring for our door prize drawings!

 

\\CHAPERONES

Rockingham Cooperative takes no responsibility for the supervision of youth during this event.  Supervision of the youth (under 18 years old) is the responsibility of parents/guardians that attend with the youth.  We recommend that all groups follow your state/county laws around adult supervision of youth when planning.

 

 

\\ON-SITE PRICING

Exclusive on-site pricing will be offered to those in attendance from a "Coop Store" that will be at Market Animal College.  All participants and their chaperones are encouraged to shop the store throughout the day to take advantage of special pricing.

Rockingham Cooperative is a farmer-owned cooperative that serves as a resource to exceed our customer's expectations.  We invite you to visit one of our locations before/after you attend Market Animal College and/or visit with any individual in a Rockingham Cooperative shirt during the event to discuss how one of our 14 farm supply locations can help serve your needs.

Rockingham Cooperative is proud to partner with our vendors to make this wonderful event a reality to better support our

4-H & FFA members with their projects.  Vendors are continually being added to our growing list and we invite you to email us, here, if you are a vendor who has an interest in sponsoring a class or presenting an educational opportunity at Market Animal College. 

 

 

\\4-H/FFA LIVESTOCK AGREEMENT

Rockingham Cooperative offers a 4-H/FFA Livestock Agreement with the intent to aide 4-H & FFA members while they raise their market animal projects through the utilization of a 0% financing program for ALL market animal project expenses during the course of the project year.  CLICK HERE to find the form, or attend the breakout session at Market Animal College.  Local store manager approval, 4-H Agent or FFA Advisor recommendation, and Parent co-signing all are required.
