Morning Classes
- Steer Nutrition Management
  • Covering the basic nutritional requirements that your livestock will need throughout the phases of growth they’ll encounter during your project year, comparing needs for different structured livestock.  Attendees can expect to come away knowing how to read a feed tag and what nutritional requirements are most important.

- Hog Nutrition Management
  • Covering the basic nutritional requirements that your livestock will need throughout the phases of growth they’ll encounter during your project year, comparing needs for different structured livestock.  Attendees can expect to come away knowing how to read a feed tag and what nutritional requirements are most important.

- Goat Nutrition Management
  • Covering the basic nutritional requirements that your livestock will need throughout the phases of growth they’ll encounter during your project year, comparing needs for different structured livestock.  Attendees can expect to come away knowing how to read a feed tag and what nutritional requirements are most important.

- Lamb Nutrition Management
  • Covering the basic nutritional requirements that your livestock will need throughout the phases of growth they’ll encounter during your project year, comparing needs for different structured livestock.  Attendees can expect to come away knowing how to read a feed tag and what nutritional requirements are most important.

- Animal Health & Pen Management
  • The best way to prevent livestock illness and diseases is through prevention.  Attendees will learn how the makeup, layout, and conditions of their barn lot play a factor in the health of their livestock.  Preventative pharmaceuticals and their relevant uses will also be discussed.

- Beginners Guide to Show Fitting
  • An easy walk-through for showman looking for the basics in products and applications to get their animals looking the best for the ring. 

- Advanced Guide to Show Fitting (all species)
  • An in-depth focused course on advanced fitting techniques and practices.  Intended for advanced showman that have experience showing and fitting.  Participants will have the opportunity to learn hands-on how and why behind certain fitting techniques for lambs, goats, and cattle.

- Feeling The Difference in Hogs, Goats, Steers, & Lambs (separate courses)
  • Putting your hands on several different species body types and discussing how body types play a role in carcass merit.

- Talking to Prospective Buyers 
  • Overview of key pieces that need to be included in your market animal sale solicitation letter that is distributed to potential buyers.  The opportunity will be given for individuals to practice their sales pitch to on-site business owners and managers to prepare and hone their public speaking skills.

- Talk to a Judge
  • Your opportunity to ask the burning questions you’ve had after leaving a show ring.  Learn from several judges on what they look for in the show ring and ways you can improve your techniques to stand out.

- Showmanship Techniques for Hogs, Goats, Steers, & Lambs (separate courses)
  • How do the very best showman get their livestock to respond so well in the ring?  Learn some tips and hints that have worked for others in this facilitated group discussion.  Bring your questions and expertise to help the group.

- Budgeting for your Project
  • How much money should you spend at the start of your project, or on feed and supplies?  Farm Credit is here to help you plan through your project year to budget, knowing how much you'll need to make to break even and make a profit.

- Parents Corner
  • Parent’s will have the opportunity to ask any questions they might have about their child’s market animal project and how they can support them.  Bring your questions, as well have several experienced FFA Advisors or 4-H Agents present to share their knowledge.

Afternoon Hands-on Opportunities
- You're the Judge for Hogs, Goats, Steers, & Lambs (separate courses)
  • In order to more easily show your livestock you need to know what to look for, and how your animal compares with the rest of the class.  This will be your opportunity to become the judge and rank a class (pick your species) and then get feedback on how your placing differs from the official ruling.  Afterward, learn how different showmanship techniques can affect your outcome by showcasing the strengths of your livestock.
